In order to offer a quality library program, we utilize AASL’s guidelines for instruction along with state standards. These guidelines from the AASL are called Standards for the 21st Century Learner and can be categorized into four skill sets.
Standards for the 21st Century Learner
1. Inquire, think critically and gain knowledge.
2. Draw conclusions, make informed decisions, apply knowledge to new situations and create new knowledge.
3. Share knowledge and participate ethically and productively as members of society.
4. Pursue personal growth.
At Vaughan our mission is to challenge our students to think, create, share and grow at every level.
